Women supporting women: How one notary is helping her community

by | Jun 16, 2021 | Community Support

Women supporting women is one of the reasons our company has been able to achieve the success we have achieved. We have been supported by incredible women leaders across the city of Houston and the nation and want to make sure that we support others along the way. The majority of our notaries and closers are women and we are proud to be able to help them advance in their careers as we continue to build this business together.

One of our notaries, April Williams, is not only an accomplished mobile closer but she has dedicated her own personal time to making a difference for women, men and families in the city of Houston and beyond.  April started a non-profit organization called You Inside and Out that works to “restore dignity, hope and love within underserved communities.” We are glad to have been able to support the work she and her organization are doing to make Houston a better place for everyone.

Check out the interview we did with April about You Inside and Out

What is it, exactly, that You Inside and Out (YIAO) does in the community?
You Inside And Out distributes hygiene kits to adults, pre-teens and teenagers.  Educating the importance of health and awareness of self through community events, shelters and social media platforms.

What prompted you to serve the community in this way and why is it so important to you?
This mission was inadvertently passed on to me through my grandmother who served the community.  She made “Love thy neighbor” a lifestyle, and with that providing the local families with everyday needs.  In this journey I found that individuals were having to choose between hygiene and hunger and I decided to take action by creating an organization that cares.

How can the local community help YIAO achieve your mission?
We partner with local nonprofits and businesses to provide resources such as finances, job opportunities, food, health care (medical/mental health), clothing and housing.

What lessons have your kids learned or have they taught you through the process of serving the community?
My children have been amazing!  According to my children they have learned that you can accomplish anything if you put in the work.  Also, there are more problems in the world than they know.  If you know the problem, do something about it. I’ve learned from my daughters that love is the common denominator to any solution!

Are there any special initiatives or events right now that you want to highlight?
Currently we are building up our summer long initiative ” Beat the Heat” that will benefit Fort Bend and Harris County Shelters as well as the homeless and hidden homeless.

Many thanks to April and YIAO for helping the Greater-Houston Community

We are so proud of April and are proud to support the mission of YIAO.  We have recently made a $250 donation to help her and her organization achieve their mission and would love to challenge some of our clients and partners to do the same! Please donate and share their mission with your family and friends.  You can find more information about YIAO below:
